My chapter “Liquid Language” has been published in the really excellent edited collection Water Logics: Materialist Epistemologies for the Environmental Humanities. This stellar collection includes work by Stefan Helmreich and Philip Steinberg, among others.
In this chapter I draw connections between the material circulation of water molecules in the ocean and the circulation of language in poetry, showing how deliquescence and structure both arrive out of circulation.
